Significant reduction in the number of people infected each year:
- 4500 cases in 2005
- 600 cases in 2017


Malaria risk still exists in French Guiana

- The main towns along the atlantic coast are beyond the risk

- No vaccination available

- Transmitted by mosquito
- Risk mostly along the two rivers border & in the interior of
the country
 

Dengue Fever/Chikungunya/Zika

There are other tropical moderate diseases without vaccination available
However, it is necessary, to limit the risks, consider the following:

- Stay in urbanized and recommended areas

- Use mosquito repellent
- Wear long sleeves T-shirts and long pants

-Use mosquito nets if you pass the night outside
