1500-1643       Dutch & French colonisation

1643                 French colonisation started  bringing with it African slaves

                         Some of these slaves escaped in jungle, giving birth to tribes known                                                         today as Bushinengue

1848                 Abolition of slavery                    

1849                 Chineses and South East Asians arrival 

1852-1953       The famous prison "Bagne de Guyane" 70,000 prisoners whose most famous was called                            "Papillon" 

1964                 Creation of Guyana Space Center
